THE FEEL

Many people know Fenton as the home to several large corporations and industries. But just outside of these business industrial corridors one finds quiet neighborhoods composed of sizable houses with generous lawns. There is a mix of older ranch architecture and newer homes in areas like Oakwood Estates or Corisande Crossing.

HISTORY

The Fenton area has been inhabited for over 900 years; the earliest proof of ancient dwellers was excavated from the "Fenton Mounds", a pair of large earthen burial mounds located in the south of the city. The city itself was founded in 1818 and became incorporated in 1948, when it began to rapidly expand its business corridor. Car maker Chrysler had large plants in the area.

ACCESSIBILITY

Fenton has excellent access to major Interstates 44, 270, 64/40, 55, and 70. It is 20 minutes from any St. Louis neighborhood or St. Louis county town.

CULTURE

Fenton living celebrates the beauty of the outdoors. It is just a short drive away from a bounty of conservation sites along the Highway 44 corridor, such as Castlewood State Park, Lone Elk Park, and West Tyson County Park.

ENTERTAINMENT

Fun at any age, the Riverchase Recreation Center offers a way for families to bond indoors and out, while laser tag and a large movie theater also keep families entertained. For a night away from the kids, there are several bars and restaurants to choose from. Shoppers will delight in the many offerings of the Gravois Bluffs Shopping Center.

SCHOOLS

Fenton is serviced by the excellent public school districts, Rockwood and Lindbergh. There are also a number of higher education institutions in the area such as Sanford Brown College, Brown Mackie College, and Fenton Midwest Institute.
